What you need to know about Dubai's new Gold District
A new ‘Home of Gold’ has opened in Dubai: an area that combines a jewellery ecosystem from bullion and wholesale to retail and investment, purpose-built in the shape of a large gold bull.
Now the Dubai Gold District unites wholesalers, retailers, international brands and buyers together in one central location.
As always, as befits the Dubai style it will also boast a ‘Gold Street’, the world’s first street to be made of gold that is being planned and designed. Here’s what we know so far.
Launched as the first ever B2B platform to connect gold and jewellery traders in its entirety, Dubai Gold District is a custom-built space that hosts the full spectrum of market players.
That includes:
-
Retail jewellery
-
Bullion trading
-
Wholesale activity
-
Investment-related services
-
Bespoke and traditional jewellery
Will gold be the only thing available at the Dubai Gold District?

What else can you expect to find there?
In addition to jewellery retail and trade, the district is being positioned as a more general lifestyle destination.
Dining options include:

Cafes
-

-
Fast food
-
Fine dining restaurants
-
Hospitality infrastructure includes:
-
More than 1,000 guest rooms
-
Six hotels are for international guests and business partners
What is ‘Gold Street’?
Among the more talked-about features of the development is its planned Gold Street, set to be “the world’s first street built out of gold”.
Although more information will be released in the coming months, the attraction is projected to become a major tourist destination and visual identifier for the neighborhood.
How large is the district?
The Dubai Gold District boasts more than 1,000 participating retailers from gold to jewellery, lifestyle, perfume and cosmetics. The retailer line-up takes in some of the most established jewellery players such as Jawhara Jewellery, Malabar Gold and Diamonds, Al Romaizan and Tanishq with Joyalukkas also recently announcing intentions to open a 24,000sq ft flagship — believed to be its biggest throughout the Middle East.
What is the opening hours for Dubai Gold District?
