UAE announces new fuel prices. How often are they revealed?
UAE fuel prices announced on the last day of each month and are effective from the first day of the next month.
So what this means is that the UAE Fuel Price Committee announced new rates on Thursday 30 April. As of Friday May 1, prices have now changed.
In 2015, the government had deregulated fuel prices to align domestic rates with global oil prices.
The committee has been meeting every month for the past 10 years to notify revised prices of fuels.
UAE fuel types explained
-
Super 98 petrol is a high-octane fuel grade developed for high-performance engines, and typically supplied to luxury vehicles.
-
Special 95 petrol is an unleaded oil that can be used by vehicles that need a higher octane fuel to operate at its best.
-
The lowest grade of petrol in the UAE is E-Plus 91, That's mostly for fleets, commercial vehicles and regular cars.
-
Diesel is more efficient but because of its emissions, primarily NOx and particulates, it normally operates in buses, trains and large trucks. NEVER put diesel into a car that operates on unleaded fuel.
