Skydive Dubai reopens with spectacular ‘Raise the flag’ jump over Palm Jumeirah
Dubai: All you adrenaline buggies and aerial sporting devotees. Skydive Dubai is open again after it has reopened. And they just decided to come back by a bang with an ‘Raise the Flag’ jump from 13,000ft above Palm Jumeirah this morning.
The opening of one of Dubai’s most iconic adventure experiences marks the arrival in full force of a key bucket-list event between residents and tourists, but highlights fresh momentum across the emirate's tourism and leisure sectors. In the later part of this week, people and tourists saw also a comeback of famous Dubai's Global Village.
Skydive Dubai posted the video of the ceremonial jump taken at the Palm Dropzone to its social media pages, with sweeping views of Dubai's iconic Palm Jumeirah coastline providing a dramatic backdrop. The moment was framed as a sign of support for the city and its populace as routine begins to resume.
In celebration of the occasion, Skydive Dubai has rolled out a special limited-time offer for UAE residents. Palma Dropzone offers a collaborative pairOf slams, booked from April 24 to May 3 with one buddy receiving their own free tandem.jump. The friend can simply be a tourist or resident but the one who actually registers must be a UAE resident.
As for the newly focused operations at the Palm Dropzone, these will initially be limited to a Friday-to-Sunday shift and subject to what the company describes as a "measured and safety-led approach" in concert with local authorities.
Currently the tandem skydives at the Palm Dropzone cost Dh2,199 per person. However, if you register for the residents deal, then it gets delivered at half the rate. As a result, jumpers are taken to heights of up to 13,000ft where they freefall speeds of around 193kmph all whilst checking out breathtaking aerial views of the skyline around Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina and many other notable landmarks.
Ever since its inception, Skydive Dubai has become one of the major tourism brands in the city, attracting adventure-seekers across the globe for tandem skydives over places such as Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina.
