Drone rescue, victim ID tech, cyber warfare zones to be displayed at Abu Dhabi event

Predictive and advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technologies dedicated to national security, live systems for identifying disaster victims, drone-based emergency response tools, hands-on cyberattack simulations: These are just some of the many cutting-edge technologies expected to be showcased at next week's International Exhibition for National Security and Resilience based in Abu Dhabi's capital city.

Prior to the start of the three-day event, Ahmed Naser Al Raisi, Inspector General at the UAE Ministry of Interior and chairman of the exhibition's higher organising committee said this year's edition will for first time include a comprehensive AI hub that brings together governments, security agencies along with technology providers and artificial intelligence specialists over the days of business.

The platform would investigate the use of AI in relation to national security and cyber, law enforcement and critical infrastructure protection, he said.

Visitors will also be able to go through what officials are calling a "cyber breakout" environment—an interactive experience that simulates actual cyberattacks in off-the-shelf SWAT and firefighting gear from first responders as an amalgamation of DIY and corporate cybersecurity.

Giving the event a slightly more topical edge, Ahmed Nasser Al Kindi, director of crisis and disaster management at Abu Dhabi Police, said the force will demonstrate various live technologies used in front-line emergency response.

These include Abu Dhabi Police's disaster victim identification system — technology that helps identify victims when dealing with major incidents, the smart command-and-control systems, hazardous materials response skills, integrated safe-city platforms and emergency operations supported by drones.

The exhibition will also include, in collaboration with the UAE Cybersecurity Council, a dedicated cybersecurity hub; a live K9 agility display; a new fire truck hub of next-generation rescue vehicles and specialists focused on policing, civil defence and critical infrastructure protection demonstrations.

ISNR is also welcoming the inaugural Abu Dhabi Global Sustainable Security Summit this year, a new global platform that aims to unite more than 70 speakers from over 15 countries and around 2,000 participants through discussions of how artificial intelligence, digital governance, emergency preparedness and institutional resilience are redefining security planning in a longer-term context.

The three-day summit is hosted by the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with Rabdān Academy and includes strategic roundtables, topic-based workshops, and youth innovation sessions examining everything from AI-driven decision-making to future crisis preparedness.
